The Suncoast Region
The Suncoast Region of the Florida Section of the Mathematical Association of America
was founded in 1974 to serve the west central region of Florida.
Although the Region is concerned with virtually all issues of mathematics education,
research, and applications, the primary concern is undergraduate mathematics education.
The Suncoast Region Coordinator is David Kerr.
There is also an MAA Florida
Section Newsletter.
The parent organizanization for the Suncoast Region is the
Mathematical Association of America, which is primarily concerned with undergraduate
mathematics education in the United States and is one of the major organizations in this
country concerned with mathematics.
