Research
Research in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics covers a broad spectrum of topics. General areas of
interest are described at Research Areas and the specific interests of
faculty members are found at Faculty Research.
The USF Library subscribes to numerous research journals of interest to
mathematicians and statisticians. In addition, several of our faculty members serve on journal Editorial Boards and
the Department is home to the journal “Stochastic Analysis and Applications”.
Each semester the department runs weekly Seminars in Analysis, Discrete
Mathematics, and Statistics. These are attended by faculty and graduate students and provide a forum for the
participants to share their current research activity. Faculty members also invite colleagues from other institutions
to visit our campus and present Colloquium talks.
