Listed below are the common registration holds and general instructions related to the hold.
- AA is a Mandatory First-Year Undergraduate Academic Advising hold.
Click here for more information about the AA hold. You must see your Academic Advisor before this hold can be removed. If you intend to remain a Mathematics major, please make an advising appointment through e-scheduler.
- AP is an Academic Probation hold.
Click here for more information about the AP hold. You must see your Academic Advisor before this hold can be removed.
- AR is an Academic Records hold.
Please see your admissions record on OASIS to locate the missing items required. If you need additional assistance, please contact the USF Admissions Office.
- CC is a Cash Collections hold.
Check account summary by term on OASIS then pay to release hold.
- FB is a hold specifically for College of The Arts (Music), FAH 136 or 813-974-2311.
- IM/MH is an Immunization Records hold.
You must submit your Immunization information and paperwork ASAP to Student Health Services in SHS 100 or call 813-974-2331.
- LE is a Student Financial Services hold.
Please contact the Financial Aid Office in ADM 125 or call 813-974-6029.
- MJ is a Major Declaration hold.
Students must declare a major after completing 45 semester hours. To declare your major as Math please follow the instructions at http://www.cas.usf.edu/declare/. After you declare your major, print a copy of your confirmation e-mail. On the printout write “MJ Hold”. Submit this printout to BEH 201 to have your hold removed. If you have any additional questions, please contact the College of Arts and Sciences office in BEH 201 or call 813-974-6957.
- OB is a Remediation hold.
Required Remediation, usually in math. Please see the TRAC Advising Office for assistance in SVC 2043 or call 813-974-2645.
- OS is a Special Services hold.
For instructions, please contact Student Support Services in SVC 2042 or call 813-974-4301.
- PF is a Parking Services hold.
Contact Parking Services for instructions in PSB 101 or call 813-974-6890.
- SD is a Student Discipline hold.
Please see the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities in RAR 234 or call 813-974-9443.
- SF is another type of Student Discipline hold.
Please see the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities in RAR 234 or call 813-974-9443. If you have this hold, you are still able to request your transcript.
- SI is a Student Health Insurance hold.

- ST is the Start Registration/Registration Appointment Time hold.
Next to this hold should be a date and time when you can begin registration. When your registration appointment time is reached, your ST hold will be removed and you can begin registration. For incoming transfer students, the ST hold will be the same as your registered orientation date. If you are an incoming transfer (or returning USF) student and do not have a date/time listed with your ST hold, please contact the USF Orientation Offices in SVC 2049 or call 813-974-3060.
- TC is a CLAS Warning hold.
All students must meet the College Level Academic Skills (CLAS) requirement. For more information please see CAS CLAS website. Students with this hold have not met the CLAS requirement but are still able to register for classes. However, they should make sure they are aware of the CLAS requirements they are missing so they can register for courses which will assist them in meeting the CLAS requirement ASAP.
- TL is a CLAS hold.
All students must meet the College Level Academic Skills (CLAS) requirement. For more information please see the CAS CLAS website. Students with this hold can still register for 1000 and 2000-level classes. However, students with this hold will be prevented from registering for any 3000+level courses until the CLAS requirement is completed. If you have this hold, we highly recommend that you contact the CAS CLAS Coordinator, , immediately to sign up for the required workshop. Students can meet with her BEH 201 or call 813-974-6957.
- TS is a CLAS Warning hold.
